U.S. Marine Charged with Assaulting Police Officer in Stamford
He knocked down a female officer, who responded in kind by knocking him down and subduing him with the help of a passerby.

STAMFORD, CT — A U.S. Marine was charged with assaulting a police officer around midnight Thursday.
Police began a search in Harbor Point area after a report of a man who got into a fight with three others outside of Sign of the Whale, according to the Stamford Advocate.
A female officer spotted Miguel Nieto-Valiant, 22, and ordered him to put his hands behind his back. Instead he threw the officer to the ground, according to police. She got up and knocked him to the ground and with the help of a passerby was able to subdue him before backup arrived.
