Veteran Stamford Police Sergeant To Lead 2023 St. Patrick's Day Parade

The parade is scheduled for March 4 at 2 p.m., in downtown Stamford.

STAMFORD, CT — The Irish American Cultural Society of Stamford (IACSOS) announced that Sgt. Patrick Loughran, a 30-plus-year veteran of the Stamford Police Department, will be the grand marshal for this year's St. Patrick's Day Parade.

Loughran is a longtime member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, and has led the parade in the past as a member of the SPD's motorcycle patrol unit.

The IACSOS also announced that the Cingari family will be honored for their generation-spanning impact on the Stamford community, and their contributions to the Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County through their Grade A Shoprite stores.

The parade is scheduled for March 4 at 2 p.m., in downtown Stamford. The Grand Marshal’s Dinner will be held the night before on Friday, March 3, at Serafina at the Italian Center, 1620 Newfield Ave., at 6 p.m.

More than 80 community marching units, pipe bands, dancers and school organizations will participate in the parade, which is now in its 28th year.
