Victim ID'd In Fatal Stamford Shooting: Police
The shooting took place on Garden Street on March 30.
STAMFORD, CT — A 26-year-old Queens, NY man has been identified as the victim in Saturday night's fatal shooting in Stamford, according to Stamford Police Lt. Thomas Scanlon.
Stephon Walthrust was shot while he was sitting in the driver's seat of his car, which was on Garden Street. Officers had been called to the scene on a report of multiple gunshots at about 10:45 p.m.
"The State Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has conducted an autopsy that determined Walthrust had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body," Scanlon stated. "Investigators are working to determine the victim’s connection with Stamford."

Walthrust is the city's first homicide victim in 2019, and no arrests have been made in connection with his killing. In 2018, Stamford had three homicides.
Stamford police are urging anyone who may have information related to the case, including any background information related the victim, to call the department's the Major Crimes Office at 203-977-4420.
