Water Rescue After Car Drives off Stamford Bulkhead, Lands Beneath Barge
The incident occurred late Thursday; Stamford, Greenwich and Sound Beach Volunteer firefighters responded.

Stamford Firefighters rescued the driver of a vehicle that apparently drove off the bulkhead at O & G Industries on Davenport Street late Thursday and landed in the water and beneath a barge, according to officials.
The Greenwich Fire Department and the dive team from the Sound Beach Volunteer Fire Department were called in for mutual aid about 11:20 p.m. Oct. 8, according to Greenwich Assistant Fire chief Robert Kick. “When our deputy chief and the Sound Beach dive team arrived, the man was out of the water. We stood by as Stamford Fire continued their search of the vehicle and the area to make sure there wasn’t anyone else in the water,” Kick said.
No other victims were found.
