Celebrate Mother’s Day Weekend on Saturday, May 13th, with wine, lunch, and a live matinee performance featuring 14 talented authors sharing 5-minute, true, moving, and hilarious tales about mothers, mothering, and motherhood. Hosted by Writers Read and City Winery New York (Pier 57, West 15th Street on 11th Avenue), doors open at 12:30 pm for lunch, followed by the “Hi, Mom!” Show at 2pm and author Meet & Greet. Tickets, purchased at CityWinery.com (bit.ly/3B4bc6U), helps cover the costs for the nonprofit Writers Read.

Stamford, CT, resident Barbara Espinosa Occhino will entertain with her comedic story, Hog Wild, about an unanticipated twist at a Thanksgiving dinner. Born in Cuba, Barbara's writing is inspired by the people and places that have colored her life in the US and abroad. She has been published in three Chicken Soup for the Soul books and magazines, has been featured at book signings at Barnes & Noble and charities, has been interviewed online and on radio as a guest author, is a member of the Rye, NY, Writes & Bites group, and is a contributing writer for Writers Read. She has earned first-place awards in national marketing competitions and has published numerous works for government agencies, businesses, organizations, and Fortune 500 companies.
