Winners Named In Stamford Schools' Holiday Greeting Card Contest

The winners of the art competition were named by Stamford Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Tamu Lucero and Stamford Mayor David Martin.

From Stamford Schools: Stamford Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Tamu Lucero and City of Stamford Mayor David Martin announced the winners of the 2019 Holiday Greeting Card Competition. Superintendent Lucero selected artwork created by Cloonan Middle School Seventh Grader Teji Rawat to use on her holiday greeting card. Mayor Martin chose artwork submitted by Dolan Middle School Eighth Grader Natalia Sierra Vettorazzi to feature on his card this year. Rawat is a student of Cloonan Art Teacher Tammy Friedman, and Vettorazzi is a student of Dolan Art Teacher Jennifer Marchetti.

Each year, the superintendent and mayor ask art teachers from the elementary or secondary schools to submit student work for consideration. They blindly selected this year’s winners from among more than 100 secondary school student submissions. In addition to the winners, the mayor and superintendent each also designate runners up, whose artwork they also felt was exceptional from among the many submissions.
