Be Prepared! Information is Power

The second annual SeniorsStrong Summit 2018 will be held at the Mystic Marriott Hotel on Saturday, June 2, 2018 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom. It is an educational event of The Mystic Geriatrics Institute.

Senior health is founded on more than physical fitness. Planning ahead with the family is the key to a holistic and healthy quality of life, thus preventing or reducing the stress of elder care. The Summit presenters, who are leaders in the field, will address financial and legal solutions, social services, and understanding levels of care and caregiving, insight into Alzheimer’s care and optimizing the care for loved ones with memory challenges will be among the breakout session topics. The morning program also examines the most effective medical care that promotes “conscious eldering,” aging in place, and dignity. It is hoped that both seniors and their families will attend the Summit together and join community leaders who will be present at the Summit.

This year’s SeniorsStrong Summit will spotlight Vivian S. Argento, M.D. of Yale –New Haven Health, who will deliver the keynote address entitled, “How to Receive the Care You Want.”

Residents throughout our region will have a chance to discuss and provide suggestions as to how to create the kind of community that promotes optimum health for seniors and their families. The registration fee of $45.00 in advance by May 28 and $55.00 at the door (space permitting) covers all program activities and includes the luncheon. Space is limited. Bring your family members and friends to take part in this informative morning and luncheon.
