Gardens by the Sea (June 12 &amp; 13, 10-4 both days) is a self-guided garden tour through the historic Borough of Stonington. Experience the beauty hidden beyond its garden gates and explore waterfront vistas, terraced landscapes, and enchanted pocket gardens, designed in styles ranging from formal to eclectic. "Plein Air" artists will be painting in selected gardens. All gardens are within walking distance, and free parking will be available. Together, we will consider what it means for a document to be a declaration, why this one may fall short, and how it compensates by drawing on Old Testament narrative patterns that continue to shape American culture, inviting discussion and debate.
G. Thomas Couser earned his Ph.D. in American Studies from Brown University in 1977. He taught at Connecticut College (1976–1982) and later at Hofstra University, where he retired in 2011 as Professor Emeritus of English and Founding Director of the Disability Studies Program.This program is free and open to the public. Deans Mill Farm 

Built in the mid-1700s as a functioning livestock farm, Deans Mill Farm has gone through an evolution in recent decades. A full renovation of the historic buildings and rejuvenation of the surrounding 70+ acres has made the property into the incredible venue it is today. Deans Mill Farm now operates primarily as a private event space and five-room bed and breakfast tucked down a private road in Stonington, Connecticut. It shares its property with Dragonfly Equestrian Center and is home to dozens of horses. On the property lies meadows, hiking trails, beautiful fields and Dragonfly Disc Golf. The property can be rented for weddings, birthday parties and other special events. Additionally, the bed and breakfast can be rented by the room or reserved in its entirety for complete privacy. The Farm has the ability to host small private indoor events for up to 50 guests in the Farmhouse.
