4 Dogs Attack 2 People, Yellow Lab In North Stonington

Animal Control is searching for the owner of four dogs that attacked two people and another dog over the weekend.

NORTH STONINGTON, CT — A man, his mother, and their yellow Lab were attacked by four dogs in the state forest between Wyassup Lake Road and Route 201, according to a post from North Stonington Animal Control. The attack occurred Sunday at about noon.

Two men on dirt bikes and two men and a woman on foot left with the four dogs that attacked. The four dogs that attacked are described as being "bulldog/Pitbull/Boxer type dogs most were black with some white and one was gray," according to animal control's Facebook post.

"We are trying to locate the owner of these dogs to get rabies vaccine information to prevent the people that were bitten by them from under going unnecessary treatments," the Facebook post reads.

Family members of the victims told The Westerly Sun that the woman, a North Stonington resident, and her adult son have received treatment. The yellow Lab suffered significant injuries and is recovering.

"I was also told the woman that was there dove into the middle of the fight to pull the dogs off of the dog that was being attacked, leaving her with blood on her hands as well," the Facebook post reads. "She made a comment that she lived nearby."
