4-Vehicle Wreck Shuts Down I-95 In Stonington
A car and a truck were on fire as a result of a crash that shut down I-95 for five hours Tuesday morning.

STONINGTON, CT — A crash that involved two vehicles on fire shut down I-95 Tuesday morning, according to fire officials. The Old Mystic Fire Department, Wequetequock Fire Department, Mystic River Ambulance, Stonington Ambulance, and L&M Medics responded to the call at 10:50 a.m.
The four-vehicle accident ended up with one car on fire and a commercial truck on fire.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze and several patients were treated by emergency responders.

The Department of Environmental and Energy Protection's hazardous material response team was called in to clean up of hazardous materials. Several other agencies also provided assistance.
The accident caused I-95 to be closed for about five hours. No serious injuries were reported. State police are investigating the crash.
