6th Annual Road to the Relay Street Fair set for May 6

The Relay For Life of Greater Westerly will host the 6th Annual Road to the Relay Street Fair, Saturday, May 6, 2017 from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm in downtown Westerly. Voting for the best business to participate in Paint the Town Purple will also take place, along with the announcement of the winner.

Road to Relay and Paint the town Purple are community-wide events geared toward raising awareness for the Relay For Life of Greater Westerly event on June 23-24, 2017. In addition, Road to Relay helps Relay For Life teams raise funds to meet their fundraising goals.

Relay For Life teams will line the downtown sidewalks on Broad Street providing activities, crafts, gifts, food and more to raise funds for the American Cancer Society. Participants from the Greater Westerly Relay will be present at Road to the Relay with homemade treats including breads and cookies, along with handmade crafts, jewelry, games and more. Music and live broadcasting will be provided by 102.3 The Wolf.

In addition to the team-sponsored tables, Relay For Life committee members will be in attendance and happy to answer any and all questions about the 2017 event. The “Relay Store” will be open, where you can purchase and pick up your must-have Relay For Life swag and essentials. Visit the Team Recruitment table if you are interested in signing up a new team. Luminary will also be for sale, and can be purchased at the Luminary table. If you are a survivor, this is a great time for you to register and sign up for this year’s Relay.

While at Road to Relay, attendees will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite Paint the Town Purple participant. Local merchants (all over greater Westerly/Pawcatuck) will decorate their storefront windows, sidewalks, and walls in purple décor to help kick-off the final leg of Relay fundraising season and help to raise awareness for the Greater Westerly Relay For Life.
