Acting for the Camera

Workshop at COMO offers expert advice and teaches valuable skills

Maybe you are a young actor who wants to transition from stage to screen. Or maybe you want an insider’s perspective to the TV and Movie industry. For any young actors ages 9-15 who want a career in television, film or commercials, this workshop is your way in! In this 6-hour workshop, you will learn how to differentiate between film, stage and television scripts, how to effectively read from a teleprompter, how to ace your auditions, either in person or online, and how to stay cool and banish on-set anxiety. As a special bonus, all workshop participants will leave with a professional 8x10 headshot for their portfolios

Workshop leader Michael Lombardi is an accomplished actor, writer, producer, and Emmy-nominated director. He created the hit family comedy television series, Welcome to Grandpaville, and the upcoming new comedy series The Misadventures of Brooke & Carly.

Acting for the Camera workshop will take place on October 9, 2016 from 10am – 4pm at the Stonington Community Center. For more information, or to register for the workshop, please visit www.thecomo.org.
