• Westerly Council Delays Short-Term Rental Vote to Workshop (upriseri.com) — Westerly's town manager reported that an 800-unit Stonington housing development will undergo a developer-funded hydraulic study, a move likely to interest residents watching regional growth and infrastructure. In the same meeting, councilors delayed a short-term rental vote to a September 21 workshop, backed a coastal right-of-way at Egret Lane, and advanced changes to how public notices are shared.
• Gaylord Hospital hosts adaptive driving night (wtnh.com) — A Stonington resident in a wheelchair found new confidence to pursue performance driving after attending Gaylord Hospital's Adaptive Performance Driving Discovery Night in Wallingford. The event, led by quadriplegic racer Torsten Gross, highlighted adaptive racing technology and a foundation program that helps people with disabilities compete on equal footing behind the wheel.
