Amtrak Train Hits Truck In Stonington, 'Residual Delays' Expected

STONINGTON, CT — Residual delays are expected after a collision between an Amtrak train and a truck in Stonington Friday morning, according to the Stonington Borough Fire Department and Amtrak.

The incident was reported before at 8:25 a.m. at the Island Road railroad crossing near Walker's Dock, fire officials said. No injuries were reported, but people were warned to avoid the area to allow investigators to work.

By 9 a.m., all trains between New London and Kingston were either running on a delay or a complete stop, according to Amtrak.
