Armed Suspects Sought After Robbery at North Stonington Truck Stop
State police said two men allegedly robbed the gas station while brandishing a knife and small rifle. They're asking for the public's help.
Troopers from Troop E-Montville responded to the Pilot Truck Stop on I-95, off of exit 93 in North Stonington, for a reported armed robbery.
Upon arrival at approximately 12:54 a.m. Thursday, July 16, troopers secured the area, troopers and K9 teams conducted a search of the area for suspects.
“Troopers determined that two white males entered the rear of the truck stop gas station and approached two employees,” Trooper First Class Kelly Grant said. “One suspect armed with a knife walked behind the counter and demanded money from the register. The second suspect reportedly held up the clerks at gunpoint. Troopers determined that a small amount of cash was taken during the robbery.”

Description of Suspect #1
- White male
- Around 5’10” tall
- 200 lbs.
- Carrying a small rifle
- Wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a black bandana covering his nose and mouth
- Wearing Black pants, brown colored footwear

Description of Suspect #2
- White male
- Approximately 6’0 tall
- Thin build
- Carrying a knife
- 140-150 lbs.
- Wearing a black hooded sweatshirt covering the top of his head
- Wearing black high water pants, possible Dickie’s style, and blue sneakers
Vehicle
- Possible black colored SUV/Van-type vehicle
Troopers spoke with victims and witnesses, and seized still photos from the surveillance cameras. Eastern District Major Crime detectives responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.
