Army Corps Giveth What Mother Nature Taketh Away at Misquamicut

How many trucks will it take to move 90,000 cubic yards of sand?

According to a report in The Westerly Sun, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers plans to truck in a whole lot of beach – 90,000 cubic yards -- to replace what Superstorm Sandy stole from Misquamicut State Beach in October of 2012.

The Sun reports the work will begin in March and end in May. Just in time for the season.

Here is our story from Nov. 1 2012 featuring media stories, photos and videos of the devastation to Misquamicut.
