Basement Fire Damages Stonington Home: Report

STONINGTON, CT -- A basement fire broke out at a single-family home in Stonington early Tuesday morning, The New London Day reported. The blaze damaged the home's basement and caused smoke and soot damage elsewhere in the three-story home.

Firefighters responded to the call around 2 a.m. and extinguished the fire in about half an hour, according to The New London Day.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
