Party Affiliation: Republican

Brief Biography: Charles LaCour, 37, has lived in the borough for the past 11 years. He’s married and has two daughters ages 3 and 7-weeks-old. LaCour has worked in the marine and financial services industries and is a U.S. Coast Guard licensed captain.

What is the primary reason you are running for this office?
I have enjoyed living in the borough for over ten years—it is a great place to live, raise a family and, for some, make a living. I would like to contribute and make sure tax dollars are used as efficiently as possible.

What will be your single most important priority if you get elected? 
Working constructively with the other burgesses and warden to get things done, as I learn more about the needs and resources of the borough.

How long have you lived in the borough?
11 years.

What’s your favorite thing about the borough?
The working waterfront.

Where do you work and what is your job title?
Marine Operations Manager for a U.S. Government contractor

What’s been the biggest success of the borough government over the past two years?
Paying down debt after completing a large capital project (new firehouse).

What’s been the biggest failure?
The need to catch up with road repairs.
