As Stonington has done for over 60 years, we look forward to celebrating the annual Blessing of the Fleet. This is to honor our present and past commercial fishermen, lobstermen and their families. The traditional celebration returns this year!
SUNDAY, JULY 37 10:30 a.m.: A fisherman's mass will be held at St. Mary Church in Stonington. Following mass, a procession will leave Town Dock and proceed through the Borough, commencing at 12:00 noon. Following the procession, a ceremony will be held at the Town Dock with church officials and town dignataries. Stonington's fishing vessels will be blessed followed by the traditional boat ride out to the breakwater, where a floral wreath in the shape of a broken anchor is laid to honor our beloved deceased fishermen. Noon to 4 p.m.: Join us or food, beverage and music at the town dock! Thank you in advance for your support! - The Blessing of the Fleet Committee
