Join Our Nature Journaling Workshop Led by Jonah Salsich! Slow down, look closer, and connect with nature. Discover the joy of nature journaling, a fun, informal way to explore the outdoors using words, pictures, and numbers. Inspired by the practices of John Muir Laws and the Wild Wonder Foundation, our group welcomes all ages and experience levels. No nature journaling experience or artistic skill required! All are welcome. Come curious!
What to Bring:
Essentials: A notebook or sketchbook, pens or pencils Optional: Colored pencils, markers, portable watercolors, binoculars, a magnifying glass, a portable folding chair, or something else to sit on.

As we celebrate the Semi quincentennial of our country, let’s&nbsp;take a look at some of the saints who could be know as ‘Patron Saints of Freedom’. Each of them shows, in their own way, how freedom is strongest when lived for others. Some we may be familiar with St. John Paul II, St. Teresa of Calcutta, St. Katherine Drexel, St. Oscar Romero, St. Damien of Molokai. Some others who are also noteworthy: St. Maximilian Kolbe, St. Peter Claver, St. Josephine Bakhita, St. Martin de Porres and St. Bartolome Las Casas. Let their witness inspire renewal of America’s founding ideals for every generation.
Ender’s Island is the perfect setting for deepening your relationship with God and renewing your faith in the hope of His promises. Join us for a powerful day of history, community, and celebration at the Fire &amp; Freedom Festival at Haley Mansion in Mystic, Connecticut. This special event honors the dedication of our nation’s veterans while celebrating the 250th anniversary of America’s founding. Guests will step back in time through immersive experiences, historical reenactments, live entertainment, and family-friendly activities throughout the day.
The day begins at 9:00 AM with a ceremonial Veteran Torch Relay departing from Fort Griswold Battlefield State Park.
From 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, the mansion grounds will transform into a lively Revolutionary-era celebration featuring:​

Rustic-chic private farm venue in scenic Stonington, CT 

Deans Mill Farm 

Built in the mid-1700s as a functioning livestock farm, Deans Mill Farm has gone through an evolution in recent decades. A full renovation of the historic buildings and rejuvenation of the surrounding 70+ acres has made the property into the incredible venue it is today. Deans Mill Farm now operates primarily as a private event space and five-room bed and breakfast tucked down a private road in Stonington, Connecticut. It shares its property with Dragonfly Equestrian Center and is home to dozens of horses. On the property lies meadows, hiking trails, beautiful fields and Dragonfly Disc Golf. The property can be rented for weddings, birthday parties and other special events. Additionally, the bed and breakfast can be rented by the room or reserved in its entirety for complete privacy. The Farm has the ability to host small private indoor events for up to 50 guests in the Farmhouse. Outdoor tented events are our specialty, with numerous locations on-site that are picturesque for your celebration. Outdoor tented celebrations can accommodate up to 250 guests.
