Celebrate Connecticut Trails Day at DPNC!
On Connecticut Trails Day, you can take a hike or get your feet wet at the Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center.
At the Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center, we have two free events to mark Connecticut Trails Day, which is June 7 (although there are activities statewide all weekend you can find them here).
At the Nature and Heritage Center at Coogan Farm, we have a 10-11:30 a.m., hike that actually starts at the Nature Center (109 Pequotsepos Road, Mystic). We will celebrate this day of being outdoors by walking from the DPNC to Coogan, and back again! This hike is great for families with children ages 6 and up. Experience meadows, woodlands, wetlands, and admire the miles of stone walls. You can register here, but remember, it's FREE!
At the Nature Center, we are offering drop-in Pond Dipping and Exploration from 1-2:30 p.m. From fish to turtles to floating frog eggs, there’s lots to find at the pond in the spring. Drop in any time to meet our naturalist at the pond and try your hand with a net and bucket. Obviously, dress for some mess! This is great for all ages, and also FREE.
We hope to see you there! Any questions, please call us at 860-536-1213. The Nature Center is open 9-5 on Saturday and 10-4 on Sunday. Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for kids and seniors.
