"Christmas at the Village Church" A Festival of Nine Lessons & Carols
A traditional service of Christmas carols, readings, and choral anthems.
The Calvary Choir School Choristers and adult schola will present “Christmas at the Village Church: A Festival of Nine Lessons & Carols” on Sunday, December 20th at 4:00 p.m. at Calvary Church in Stonington, CT. The service will include traditional Christmas carols, readings, and choral anthems. This traditional service, made famous by the choir of Kings College in Cambridge, England, has become a beloved tradition at Calvary Church. The choir at Calvary, directed by Joseph Ripka, is affiliated with the Royal School of Church Music and, in the Anglican tradition, includes 10 adult singers and 22 young singers ages 9 to 14.
A Christmas Market will be held in the church courtyard before the service, beginning at 2:00 p.m. Jams, chutneys, pies, and other baked goods, ornaments, crafts, and more will be for sale. There will also be FREE mulled wine, and cider. All proceeds will benefit the choirs’ cathedral residencies in Scotland and England this summer. For more information, visit www.CalvaryChoirSchool.org or call 860-535-1181.
Come early! Doors will open at 3:45 p.m. for seating.
