'Clover' The Seal Released Back Into Wild By Mystic Aquarium

Clover was nursed back to health over the course of several months and was recently released back to the wild.

MYSTIC, CT — Clover the female gray seal was released at Blue Shutters Beach in Charlestown, RI Tuesday after nearly four months of rehabilitation in the Mystic Aquarium's Animal Rescue Clinic.

She was found stranded at Overlook Beach in Babylon, N.Y. She was treated for malnutrition and a variety of wounds. Her weight increased from under 40 pounds to 60 pounds when she was released.

The animal rescue clinic is filled to near capacity with 16 seals.

The annual Seals on the Rocks fundraising event will take place July 28 from 7 to 9 :30 p.m. in support of the Animal Rescue clinic.
