Crash Involving Street Sweeper Injures Town Employee In Stonington

Police said a Stonington town employee was injured in a crash involving a street sweeper.

STONINGTON, CT - Police said a Stonington town employee was injured in a crash involving a street sweeperthat occurred late Wednesday morning, the Westerly Sun reported. The victim was treated for minor injuries after the sweeper he was operating collided with a car, police said.

The collision occurred at the intersection of Liberty Street and West Arch Street, according to the Westerly Sun. Police said the sweeper was turning left from West Arch and a Honda Accord was traveling north on Liberty at the time of the incident. Police said the sweeper sustained heavy damage but no one in the car was injured, the Westerly Sun reported. Officers are continuing to investigate the situation.
