A Decade of Support for MASH and the Community
Chelsea Groton Foundation Supports MASH's Mission to Prevent Family Homelessness

Formed in 1998 to address the needs of Southeastern Connecticut's homeless and imminently homeless families, Mystic Area Shelter and Hospitality, Inc. (MASH) is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization dedicated exclusively to serving homeless and at-risk families with minor children. MASH focuses on diverting families from emergency shelter, instead finding families immediate solutions to their housing crisis and giving parents the tools they need to sustain long-term housing for their children.
Critical to MASH's work are generous grants from local foundations. Chelsea Groton Foundation was created in 1998 to improve the quality of life in the bank's CT and RI market areas. The Foundation has generously supported MASH's work for over a decade. The recent grant award to MASH of $7,500, presented to MASH by Foundation Board Member Chief Marilynn Malerba, will be used to support MASH’s successful homelessness prevention programs.
In presenting the check, Chief Malerba underscored the importance of supporting local organizations like MASH who work to make our communities a better place to live for everyone.
