Dog Attacked By Coyote In Watertown: Report

Animal Control reminds citizens not to leave their pets unattended while outside, especially between dusk and dawn

WATERTOWN, CT — Police said a dog was attacked by a coyote Wednesday on Booth Avenue in Watertown, NBC Connecticut reported. The attack occurred when a Beagle/Jack Russell Terrier was outside for only a few moments around 1 a.m., police said.

Police said the coyote ran after the family came to their dog's aid, but the animal suffered puncture wounds that needed to be treated, according to NBC Connecticut.

Animal Control reminds citizens not to leave their pets unattended while outside, especially between dusk and dawn, NBC Connecticut reported. Coyote attacks are uncommon in Watertown, police said.
