Eight Police Dogs Sweep Stonington High School for Drugs and Other Safety Concerns

The sweep was part of an ongoing initiative to ensure school safety.

STONINGTON, CT – Eight police dogs and their handlers swept Stonington High School on Tuesday morning, The Day reported.

The sweep was part of an ongoing initiative to ensure school safety, according to The Day. The drill began around 8:30 a.m. and lasted for about 10 minutes.

No drugs were found on school grounds but a dog did indicate the presence of drugs in a car located in the parking lot, which police are currently investigating. The Day reported. K9 teams from Stonington, Westerly, Waterford, Norwich, Montville and East Lyme all participated in the sweep.
