Explore the gardens at Stone Acres - Estate of Mr. & Mrs. Frederic C. Paffard, Jr., open to the public for self-guided tours to benefit the Garden Conservancy. No reservations required; rain or shine. Admission is $5 per person; children 12 & under free. A century-old boxwood hedge a quarter of a mile long, rose arbors, and a perennial cutting garden are highlights of this old-fashioned garden. There are interesting old outbuildings, a carriage house, grapery, greenhouse, annual cutting gardens, a ha ha, and a pond once used for ice—now home for the herons.
