To celebrate and conclude the event, all participants and fans can join Surfrider, CT, and NESS for a community beach clean-up reflecting the environmental mission of NESS and its partners.  "We're doing this because NESS wants to promote the clean and healthy sport of surfing consistent with its mission to get more people in and on the water having fun," said event organizer Mistral Dodson, a Program Director at NESS.  "We hope that fans and young surfers (also known as 'grommets') will join us, from near and far, for an action-filled day of friendly and fun competition," she said.  "NESS is so grateful to the Narragansett Surf Shop, Surfrider, Peter Pan Surfing Academy, Eastern Surfing Association, and Paddle Surf Rhode Island for their guidance, sponsorship, and expertise in making this event a reality," she said.
