Three Weekends ~ Dates: 6/28-29, 7/19-20, 9/20-21 *Participants must attend all dates to receive certification.

Hours: 8 am – 8 pm

You do not need to be a yoga teacher to participate! This training certifies you to teach yoga to children, in a full 95 hour program recently adopted by The Yoga Alliance.

Explore the possibilities of sharing yoga with the children in your life. Bring yoga to the children in your family, the children in your classroom, the children that you work with and the children you want to inspire through yoga. Children of all backgrounds will benefit from the practice of yoga as it boosts confidence, sharpens focus, inspires creativity, builds strength, increases flexibility and more. This training will include: Study and understanding of all childhood developmental stages from age 2-15 and how the issues of each age group impacts them; Knowledge of age appropriate classroom techniques, lesson plans and group processing for children's activities; Anatomy and physiology related specifically to changes during child development and their application to yoga technique; Ethical language and behavior, both when parents or guardians are present and when they are not; basic yoga philosophies as they relate to children and to teaching Yoga to children; Yoga posture, breathing techniques and meditation appropriate for each age; Yoga games, songs and more.
