Fire Breaks Out At Stonington Home
Fire officials lauded neighbors who reported the blaze and assisted firefighters.
STONINGTON, CT — Firefighters dealt with a blaze at a Diving Street on Thursday morning.
Emergency dispatchers received calls at 7:48 a.m. reporting a fire at a two-story home with smoke showing from the home's rear.
Firefighters found and extinguished the fire, then ensured the fire did not extend to elsewhere in the home.

The home was not occupied at the time. No injuries were reported.
"We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the neighbors who not only quickly detected and reported the emergency, had a garden hose spraying water on the structure but also moved their vehicles from the street to provide access for responding fire apparatus and assisted by making contact with the homeowner," fire officials wrote.
