Flooding in New London County; Flash Flood Watch in Effect for Entire County

New London County is under a flood advisory until 5:30 p.m. Thursday and a flash flood watch until Friday, Sept. 11, at 6 a.m.
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is reporting flooding on I-95 southbound, between exits 83 and 81. East Lyme’s Main Street at Pennsylvania Avenue is closed due to flooding, according to East Lyme police.
A Hazardous Weather Outlook was issued for the entire state due to possible flooding. Towns and cities state-wide are expected to receive more than an inch of rain, sorely needed due to an absence of precipitation for the past two weeks.
