Gail MacDonald, Top Vote Getter, Resigns School Board

According to report, cites work, family obligations.

According to a report published in The Day, Gail MacDonald has resigned her post as member of the Stonington Board of Education. MacDonald had been board chair but lost that seat following the Nov. 4 election.

MacDonald has served eight years on the board, half that time as the chairwoman. She was replaced by Democrat Frank Todisco.

MacDonald told The Day family and work commitments prompted her resignation, but added that she learned her ousting as chair was “in the works,” without her knowledge, though that did not play a role in her decision, she told the paper.
