Lets talk about Mystic and surrounding areas for what businesses can do to maximize tourism. Two things: Band together and create business Visibility. I actually do some work for Google Maps as a content contributor and here are some interesting Local Search statistics to share with you.
.
- 90% of consumers start a local "buying process" online.
- Google search in Connecticut has 65% of that share.
- Mobile Local Search is now 40% of the total share.
Businesses need to be visible which correlates to being Visual. Consumers (thanks to Pinterest and Instagram) desire crisp images to form quick buying decisions. So for advice, look first at getting a verified Google Places for Business page (it's free if you don't have one). This unlocks a number of new features and gets interaction with visitors to the area. If you are a restaurant for instance, you can respond to less than stellar reviews. Most important of all, the Places for Business listing is linked to Google Maps where visitors are finding you first. This is what I do so feel free to reach out if I can help. If you want to see an example of a fully optimized business listing, watch this video I have created.
