Supporting our Vets.
On behalf of the Pawcatuck VFW, thank you for the great turn out for our first Fish Fry last night, March 7. The VFW hall was filled a couple of times with customers who enjoyed our dinners. Homemade coleslaw and homemade clam chowder, and the freshest cod fish we could find. We made the fish with beer batter, lite batter and we even specially baked fish for some customers. A number of orders were “take outs”, serving people who couldn’t come to dine in our hall.
The event was hosted by the Harley P Chase Pawcatuck VFW Post 1265 and its Ladies and Mens Auxiliary. A clear case of a great team working together. A crew of about 14 members worked diligently to ensure our customers received a great meal.

The VFW will be hosting the Fish Fry every Friday night during Lent. Bring your friends; come have an enjoyable meal with old friends and new friends you will meet.

WHAT IS THE VFW?
With the strength of the VFW National Organization we steadfastly support; VFW Operation Uplink™, VFW Unmet Needs, and the VFW Military Assistance Program (MAP). These initiatives make an incredible difference for our troops and their families. We also help to support other State, District and local VFW activities that provide for the welfare of serving military men and women as well as the Veterans that have returned to civilian life.
We of Post 1265 pledge to support local community charities, youth programs, high school activities, patriotic parades and events and other charitable organizations. Our local emphasis is on helping all Veterans obtain much deserved medical assistance and other V.A. and state benefits. Our most important objective is to continue to maintain a post home where present and future veterans can gather and socialize with others that have borne the hardships of war and service to their country.
