Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued for Mystic, Stonington

The week of July 7 through July 10 will be hot and humid and there is a chance for severe weather beginning Tuesday through Thursday evening, according to the National Weather Service.

If rain falls where you are, expect it to be heavy and to possibly lead to flooding concerns, the weather service predicts. There’s a 30- to 50-percent chance across the state.

The National Weather Service issued a “Hazardous Weather Outlook” for Fairfield, New Haven, Middlesex and New London counties.

Flash flooding is a possibility and the forecast is calling for the heaviest rain to fall on Thursday.

NBC Connecticut Chief Meteorologist Brad Field wrote on social media “oppressive humidity levels likely tomorrow and Wednesday but dry and comfortable again by Friday / Saturday.”

• Thursday: A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 3pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 74. North wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
• Thursday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 64. South wind 3 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
• Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 79.
