Heavily Debated Stonington Dog Park Fence Approved by Planning and Zoning
The fence has been a topic of debate for four months.

STONINGTON, CT – A dog park fence that has been a topic of debate for four months was finally approved Tuesday, the Westerly Sun reported.
The Borough Planning and Zoning Commission approved the installation of a fence at the waterfront Sewer Treatment Expansion Plant, according to the Westerly Sun. The fence will decrease the size of the off-leash dog park.
Allegations have been persistent by opposition that the two current fences were installed without permits, according to the Westerly Sun. In response, the town will be amenable to a stipulation that a fence permit cannot be issued without prior approval by a zoning enforcement officer.
