I-95 Closed In Stonington Due To Accident

Information via CT DOT:

STONINGTON - I-95 Northbound CLOSED between Exits 90 and 91 because of Crash (Jackknifed). Reported Friday, January 7 at 9:14 am.

UPDATE: As of 3:20 p.m. the highway is still closed at the site of the accident.

Connecticut State Police said, "A tractor trailer rollover on Interstate 95 north at Exit 90 by the Mystic Aquarium caused over 400 feet of damage to the wire rope guardrail and has this portion of the highway shutdown right now. Thankfully there were no other vehicles involved and no one was injured. These crashes are preventable! We urge commercial drivers to reduce their speeds in these poor weather conditions. Doing so can help prevent costly damages and tragic crashes."
