Intoxicated Man Threatens Driver With Hatchet: Stonington Police
Stonington police said an intoxicated man was arrested after threatening another man with a hatchet.

STONINGTON, CT - Stonington police said a Westerly man was arrested early Friday morning after he threatened another man with a hatchet, the New London Day reported. The suspect was intoxicated at the time of the incident, police said.
Police said Everett Jackquontee Beltran, 23, got into an argument with the unidentified man after Beltran allegedly sideswiped his car and drove away, according to the New London Day. The two men later pulled into the parking lot of Evans Mobil on Route 1 in Pawcatuck and continued to argue. Witnesses told police that Beltran pulled a hatchet out from his trunk at one point during the argument, the New London Day. After determining Beltran to be intoxicated, officers struggled for several minutes to arrest the suspect, who yelled at officers and refused to get in a cruiser.
