Lights Out in Pawcatuck

First Selectman Edward Haberek is not satisfied with the CL&P reason for not repairing downtown Pawcatuck street lights. He told Patch the utilities’ claim that vandalism is the issue is irrelevant, if true, because lamps that do not light pose a safety hazard.

But CL&P spokesman Mitch Gross said Saturday that while the vandalism issue with the downtown lights “continues to be a problem,” the lights will be repaired.

“We will repair them again as soon as possible,” he said. Noting that the CL&P Community Relations staff “regularly” speaks with municipal officials. 

But for some, this is a bit of déjà vu. Street light issues have plagued Pawactuck businesses.
