Man Crashes Stolen Vehicle In Stonington, Flees Scene: Police
Police said residents were told to shelter in place as officers pursued the accused driver and a passenger.

STONINGTON, CT — Police said two Rhode Island men were arrested Monday afternoon after one of them allegedly crashed a stolen car and fled the scene, the New London Day reported.
According to the Day, police said the driver hit a concrete wall on Garden Street as he tried to drive away from an off-duty officer. Police said residents were told to shelter in place after the accused driver and passenger fled the scene out of concern they might be armed.
Police said the driver, 26-year-old Jonathan R. Ilarraza of North Kingstown, R.I., and the passenger, Robert W. Abercrombie, 48, of Providence, were subsequently taken into custody, according to the Day.
