Man Who Fled Scene of Crash Found Dead in Pawcatuck: Police
Police said the suspect fled the scene of a crash Sunday and abandoned his damaged truck on Route 1.
STONINGTON, CT - Police said a Westerly man who fled the scene of a crash over the weekend was found dead Wednesday morning in Pawcatuck, The Day reported.
The body of Michael Gaccione, 40, was found in a marina lot along Mechanic Street next to a crane, according to The Day. Though autopsy results are pending, police said his death is not considered suspicious at this time.
Police said Gaccione fled the scene of a crash Sunday night and abandoned his damaged pickup truck behind the Renegade gym on Route 1 in Pawcatuck, The Day reported. His death may possibly be due to exposure and injuries he sustained in the crash.
