Members Appointed To Stonington Plastic Bags Committee: Report

The committee will explore the possibility of banning plastic bags and straws in Stonington.

STONINGTON, CT — A task force will explore the possibility of banning both plastic bags used by retail stores and straws and takeout containers used by restaurants in Stonington, as reported by the New London Day.

According to the Day, members were appointed to the committee by the Board of Selectmen on Wednesday. They will have their first meeting within the next week or so and will have 90 days to submit a report to the board.
