Motorcycle Passenger Killed In I95 Collision In North Stonington
A 48-year-old New Haven woman was killed in a motorcycle collision on I95 Sunday. Cynthia Oliveras was a passenger, the driver was injured.
NORTH STONINGTON, CT—Just before 6:30 p.m. Sunday, a motorcycle traveling on I95 southbound between exits 92 and 93 struck the wire rope guardrail seriously injuring the driver and killing his passenger, according to a Connecticut State Police report.
Cynthia Oliveras, 48, of 15 Orchard St., in New Haven, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The driver, Cesar Negron, 46, of 1314 Quinnipiac Ave., in New Haven, sustained serious injuries.
Local reports said LifeStar was called to the scene but the state police report said Negron was transported to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital. His condition is unknown. The high-speed lane was closed and traffic limited to one-lane for more than an hour. A police report reads that 70-feet of guardrail was damaged.
