MYSTIC, CT — On behalf of Mystic Aquarium, we’re pleased to share the following details surrounding the organization’s festivities to celebrate this holiday season and ring in the New Year!
To wrap up the year, and following a number of initiatives that took place in honor of its 50th anniversary, Mystic Aquarium is putting on a display of holiday lights like no other with the inaugural Home for the Holidays Lights Extravaganza! Guests will be able to experience these displays throughout the outdoor and indoor habitats, taking in the sights and sounds of the holidays while interacting with the animals that call Mystic Aquarium home.

A choreography of dancing lights will be showcased in various areas of the campus on select evenings from 6-9PM, starting Friday, November 24, through Saturday, December 30, and will feature music from iconic holiday movie favorites. During such events, aquarium goers will be able to enjoy the Arctic Coast Beluga Exhibit, Pacific Northwest, main indoor aquarium gallery, as well as the newly-renovated courtyard. In addition, the cafe and gift shop will be open. In addition, the aquarium will offer fun and festive activities, live music performances and holiday character meet-and-greets on select nights!
The schedule of events is viewable HERE. We’d love to host you for a preview to experience the holiday lights prior to Thanksgiving, so please let us know if you may be able to visit the aquarium on Tuesday, November 21. If that date does not work in your schedule, we can accommodate a visit once the events open up. We hope you’ll consider sharing this unique event with your readers for coverage you may be working on surrounding holiday experiences or activations.
