Mystic Aquarium Participating in Sea Turtle Awareness Program

Mystic Aquarium is proud to participate in the Sea Turtle Awareness Program, a release program for loggerhead sea turtles run by the North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores with the goal of educating the public about the loggerhead and the steps being taken to protect the species from extinction.

In November, we acquired a loggerhead sea turtle hatchling recently named Clay, who will mature with the care of our staff. Clay will be released to his environment later this year.
