Mystic-Area Hotel Unveils Major Renovations

MYSTIC, CT — A Mystic-area hotel has completed renovations that include updated guest suites, gathering areas and other amenities, according to a statement.

Residence Inn by Marriott Mystic Groton announced the renovations last week. The all-suite hotel has 128 rooms and is located near I-95, with access to downtown Mystic and several of the region's major attractions.

According to the hotel, the redesigned interiors draw inspiration from Mystic's maritime history, with coastal colors, natural textures, wood finishes and artwork reflecting the area's seafaring past.

“Whether guests are visiting for business, an extended assignment, or a family vacation along Connecticut’s coastline, we wanted every space to feel warm, comfortable, and connected to the destination,” General Manager Carmen Nunez said in a statement.

The hotel's suites include separate living and sleeping areas, along with kitchens equipped with refrigerators, cooktops, microwaves and dishwashers. The property also has a fitness center, outdoor gathering areas and meeting space.

The hotel is located near Mystic Seaport Museum, Mystic Aquarium and downtown Mystic. Other nearby destinations and employers include Foxwoods Resort Casino, Mohegan Sun, General Dynamics Electric Boat, Naval Submarine Base New London and the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.

The hotel also offers pet-friendly accommodations, according to the announcement.
