Mystic Bookkeeper Pleads Not Guilty to Embezzling More than $23,000 from Employer

The suspect allegedly took more than $23,000 in order to pay for her terminally ill husband's medical expenses.

GROTON, CT - A former Mystic bookkeeper is accused of embezzling more than $23,000 from her Groton employer, The Day reported.

Precision Motors bookkeeper Lynne W. Lee, 57, pleaded not guilty in court Tuesday to stealing from the company between September 2015 and August 2016, according to The Day. Charges were brought against Lee when her employer noticed a discrepancy in August.

The employer told police she confronted Lee about the issue, to which the suspect admitted to taking $100 to $200 a day, according to The Day. Lee allegedly took $23,726.90 in this time in order to pay for her terminally ill husband’s medical expenses.
