Mystic Driver’s Truck Launched into Air While Driving on Drawbridge

The suspect was charged with driving under the influence and transported to the hospital.

MYSTIC, CT – A local man was charged with driving under the influence Saturday after his pickup truck went airborne over the Mystic drawbridge, The Day reported.

Officers responded to an early morning crash after hearing squealing tires and a crash, according to The Day. Police said Justin Aleshire’s, 24, speeding truck was launched into the air as it went over the drawbridge.

The suspect’s car hit a fence and a series of signs before crashing into a utility pole, The Day reported. Police said Aleshire appeared be intoxicated as he got out of the truck, and was subsequently arrested.
