Mystic Garden Club Receives Awards from Federated Club of CT
Mystic Garden Club is recipient of four awards from Federated Garden Clubs of Connecticut.
MYSTIC GARDEN CLUB RECEIVES 4 AWARDS FROM FEDERATED GARDEN CLUBS OF CONNECTICUT
Mystic Garden Club, a non-profit organization benefitting the community, was the recipient of 4 awards from the Federated Garden Clubs of Connecticut.
Presidents’ Bowl Award was given to the club for an outstanding community project involving the planting and maintaining of seasonal planters that adorn the streets of Mystic to the “Giving Garden” at Coogan Farm that produced 3 and ½ tons of food for the United Way food program in New London. The Invasive Plant Patrol assessed invasive plants and recommended alternatives, resulting in the design and creation of a “Pollinator Gateway Garden” at the farm.

Certificate of Individual Achievement was awarded To Fran Hoffman of Mystic who worked tirelessly on the Coogan Farm Project and the Invasive Plant Patrol. This patrol encourages native plantings that will improve wildlife habitat.
Conservation Award was also given to the club in recognition of the Coogan Farm Giving Garden as an organic community garden that benefits United Way of New London. The establishment of pollinator gardens was also part of this award.

Special Certificate for Outstanding Leadership was awarded to Amy Bush of Mystic for her continued leadership as Civic Chair of the club. Under her direction, a myriad of commendable projects support the local community.
Mystic Garden Club, organized in 1924, is a 98 member non-profit organization dedicated to the benefit of the community. Its purpose is to stimulate the knowledge and love of gardening among amateurs; to share the advantage of association; to promote good environmental stewardship; and, to encourage civic planting.
